  34. No although I wish I had had it at the time! I wrote my paging script
  35. using C-Kermit 5A. I spent hours searching for a definition of the TAP
  36. protocol before I found it documented.

  41. UCP (Universal Computer Protocol) is another similar protocol which is
  42. used primarily by phone companies who allow messages to be sent to their
  43. digital mobile phones that handle SMS messages (Short Message Service).
  44. I believe digital mobile phones are more prevalent in Europe than the
  45. USA.

  47. Part of this protocol involves converting the text into a stream of hex
  48. representations of the characters, just like hexify. hexify is much
  49. faster than doing this from a script though :)
